Yesterday I had my knee surgery. First off (shock shock) the nurse couldn't get my IV in. I now have a bruised right arm and a big green bruised top of the left hand. All for nothing. She finally had the anesthesiologist do it. It will be on a billboard if ever I have to go give blood or get an IV that they get the vein the 1st time!
The surgery was a lateral release of the left knee cap, then he scraped arthritis out and sucked out bone fragments that had chipped off of the knee cap. I have to wear those sexy TED hose for a week and I can't unwrap the bandage until Friday. He injected a pain block that is now starting to slowly wear off. I wish I could keep that for a few more days. I start Physical Therapy on Wednesday, I am reserving percocet for that visit!!
Pat & Tracy gave me a wonderful blessing. I really don't know how I would have done it without it. I thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers. I am on the downhill side now. Seriously the pain can't be much worse than it has been the past couple of months! I know it will gradually ease up!
If I have learned anything it is...QUIT TRYING TO BE TOUGH!! (I guess it runs in the family) It takes a lot to get me to tears and they have been flowing for about a month! That runs in the family too ;)

Hey Debbie-
Good Luck with your recovery. Hopefully, the worst is over...well, minus the physical therapy. :( I'm sure that won't be much fun.
Keep looking ahead to brighter, pain-free days! If I can do anythng to help you, please let me know!
Take care!

You and Brad are so related. He has been gimping around for years. He finally went in to see the BYU team doctor, they instantly did xrays and says he tore his ACL in one knee and the top ligament over the other knee cap, so to give it a month of Sundays to heal and come back, in his active life case 3 months. I think we are also looking at surgery. He did sell his KTM 450 over the weekend it was just killing him to kickstart that heavy sucker. You Browers are so stubborn. Just take the drugs and feel better already. I'm glad you finally got yours taken care of.
