What a Day...

I went back to work Wednesday and by about 10:00 was dreading that decision. What a long day. I had a lot to do and just thought I could do things like normal...but as the hours went on my knee kept swelling bigger and bigger. by 2:00 I could hardly walk to my car. I came home and layed down for a whole 20 minutes because I had to meet Kailee at the photographers to proof her Senior pictures. I finally got back home and layed back down for about 30 minutes (wow getting longer every time) and then went with Tracy to a dear friends son's viewing. Got to come back home for about 20 minutes until it was time to go to jail...hahaha...YW at the Detention Center. (Remember...my awesome calling)
By the time I walked in the door at 8:20 I was in tears. I realized just a few things.
#1--Contrary to popular belief...I am NOT Superwoman.
#2 I need to elevate by leg more during the day
#3 I still need pain pills!!!!!
#4...see #1
I am about at my wits end when my phone beeps...I get a text from my bro Kendall in Minnesota. It read..."We just put the kids to bed and thought you should know that Allie has been praying for you every night since your surgery...we love you". Allie is my darling little niece. Then I really started to cry. The Lord knows when you have had enough and just need a pick me up. Thanks Kendall for listening to the promptings and sending that text. Needless to say I went right to bed with about 3 ice packs on my leg.
Today was a better day. My Secretary's son had knee surgery last year and she brought me in his ice cooler that hooks around your knee and keeps it cold all day. She was so funny and had the janitor bring in a long extension cord so I could still get up and do all the stuff I had to do and not feel confined to my desk. It has been so nice. I still am tired from being up and on my feet all day but definitely not so swollen.
I still need to remind myself about #1 on my list. I just can't wait to be able to run again. It is an awful feeling, seeing the perfect jogging weather and knowing you can't do it!
Soon...Soon...Soon...

You are superwoman, you just don't have superwoman's knees! Definitely take it easy this weekend, just think, the more rest and TLC you give your knee, the quicker you can be jogging!
